In Greenfield, Indiana, Force Construction recently completed a 62,000 square foot expansion of Avery Dennison's manufacturing and warehouse facility, furthering a longstanding partnership with this valued client. Completed in 2023, this project included 10 new shipping docks and expanded warehouse and shipping space, addressing space constraints and enhancing output efficiency. Key features of this expansion included the continuation of high-piled storage and ESFR (Early Suppression Fast Response) fire suppression systems, allowing for extensive high-piled storage throughout the warehouse. The construction also featured high-precision floor flatness and levelness (FFFL) standards, facilitating the use of narrow-aisle forklifts and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) provided by the owner. A notable aspect of this project was the interim construction financing provided by Force Construction, which enabled the project to proceed smoothly and allowed for early owner occupancy. This innovative financial solution demonstrated our commitment to supporting our clients' needs and ensuring project continuity. Avery Dennison's investment in this expansion underscores their commitment to growth and operational excellence. In Columbus, Indiana, Force Construction is honored to extend its long-standing partnership with St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and School through the completion of a state-of-the-art athletic facility. This $6.3 million gymnasium, affectionately named The Den, is designed to accommodate basketball, volleyball, physical education, and various community activities. Our history with St. Peter’s is rich, having previously constructed both the church sanctuary and the school. The Den marks another significant milestone in this enduring relationship, reflecting our commitment to supporting the growth and mission of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and School. The Den features a seating capacity of 600, along with additional meeting rooms and space for fitness classes, embodying our commitment to multifunctional and community-centric design. The construction of this facility required close collaboration with St. Peter’s leaders to ensure it would serve both the church’s mission and the community’s needs. One of the most touching elements of this project was the inclusion of Scripture written on the flooring beneath the gym’s wood surface by St. Peter’s students, symbolizing the foundation of faith upon which this project was built. We are particularly proud of our ability to complete this project within budget, allowing the church to remain debt-free, which aligns with St. Peter’s philosophy of Godly stewardship. This facility is not only a testament to our advanced construction techniques and self-performing capabilities but also a symbol of the lasting relationships we build with our clients. The Den stands as a beacon of community spirit and faith, ready to inspire and serve for generations to come. Moreover, The Den is a shining example of our Design-Build capabilities. The Bowen Civil Engineering Laboratory at Purdue University is a cutting-edge facility designed and built by Force Construction to support advanced research in large-scale civil engineering. Situated on a 14.71-acre site in West Lafayette, Indiana, this 66,665 square foot facility serves as a premier research space for testing and analyzing full-scale structures and materials. The laboratory's strong floor, measuring 83 feet by 146 feet, and strong wall, which stands 40 feet tall in an "L" configuration, are engineered to handle up to one million pounds of force with minimal deflection (0.1 inches), making it capable of supporting rigorous structural testing. The facility’s clear interior height of 53 feet allows for the construction of test specimens as large as four stories, and two 30-metric ton overhead cranes with a 45-foot hook height assist in the placement and construction of these large-scale specimens. Beyond the structural testing capabilities, the Bowen Laboratory offers a diverse range of research and support spaces. The ground floor features a 27,352 square foot large-scale testing area, along with specialized areas for durability and small-scale testing, infrastructure materials analysis, and a wood/metal shop. The facility also includes a Teleparticipation Data Acquisition Center, allowing researchers to capture and analyze data in real time, with full fiber-optic and wireless connectivity throughout the building. Designed with functionality and sustainability in mind, the Bowen Laboratory is equipped with high-efficiency heating, cooling, and lighting systems, and is supported by a wet-type fire sprinkler system. The building’s exterior features insulated precast concrete panels and an aluminum-framed glass curtain wall, combining durability with a modern aesthetic. As the result of global benchmarking of research facilities, the Bowen Laboratory is one of the most advanced large-scale civil engineering research centers at any university in the United States. Force Construction’s involvement in the design and construction of this facility reflects our commitment to delivering innovative, highly specialized spaces that advance the boundaries of research and engineering.

In the heart of downtown Columbus, Indiana, Force Construction proudly served as the design-build contractor for the expansion of St. Peter’s Lutheran School, dedicated in 2003. This pre-K through 8th grade facility expansion reflects our long-standing partnership with St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and School, having previously constructed both the church sanctuary and, more recently, the athletic facility affectionately known as 'The Den'. Force Design, a subsidiary of Force Construction, served as the architect for this project. The comprehensive expansion included 24 additional classrooms, teacher preparation areas, administrative offices, a commons area, a music room, and conference areas. A unique pedestrian bridge spans a common entryway lobby area, featuring a “town square” clock, benches, and skylighted gathering spaces, creating a welcoming and functional environment for students and staff. Designed with full accessibility in mind, the building includes elevator access to new and previously constructed areas, ensuring seamless connectivity throughout the school. This includes the gymnasium and cafeteria spaces, as well as additional access to the adjoining church sanctuary. The expansion not only increased the capacity and functionality of St. Peter’s educational facilities but also reinforced our commitment to creating spaces that foster community and learning. Our ability to deliver such a complex project within budget and to the satisfaction of our client underscores our dedication to quality and excellence.
